How to fix an image upload issue

If your image will not upload to Zeely, follow these steps to check the file and get back to creating your ad.

When a problem like this arises, it’s unbearable. Here are the most common reasons photo uploads get stuck:

  • The file is larger than the allowed size.

  • The image uses an unsupported format.

  • The file name contains special characters.

  • Your internet connection is slow or unstable.

  • Your browser or app needs to be refreshed or updated.

  • Stored browser or app data is interfering with the upload.

Let’s go through a few steps to help you troubleshoot the issue and get your image to load properly.

Check file format and size

First, make sure your image meets these requirements:

  • Supported formats: WEBP, PNG, JPEG, JPG, and HEIC

  • Maximum file size: 10 MB per image

If your image uses TIFF, RAW, or another format that is not listed above, convert it to a supported format and try uploading it again.

If the file is larger than 10 MB, compress or resize it before uploading. You can use an image compression tool or your device’s built in editing options.

You can use a tool such as TinyPNG or CompressJPEG to reduce file size.

Simplify the file name

A long or unusual file name may sometimes prevent an image from uploading.

Give the file a short, simple name such as product1.jpg. Remove special characters such as #, %, &, or emojis, then try the upload again.

Try another image

Upload a different image in one of the supported formats. If the second image works, the issue is likely connected to the original file.

In this case, try converting, resizing, or saving the original image again before uploading it.

Check your Internet connection

A slow or unstable connection can interrupt an upload. Try the following:

  • Switch to Wi-Fi if you're on mobile data

  • Avoid unstable or public networks

  • Move closer to your router if needed

Refresh or update Zeely

Sometimes a quick restart is enough to clear a temporary issue.

In the Zeely app

  1. Close the app completely.

  2. Open it again and retry the upload.

  3. Check the App Store or Google Play for an available update.

  4. If the issue continues, delete and reinstall the app.

On the Zeely web dashboard

  1. Refresh the page.

  2. Sign out of Zeely, then sign back in.

  3. Make sure your browser is up to date.

  4. Try uploading the image again.

Clear your browser data

If you are using the Zeely web dashboard, stored browser data may be getting in the way.

Open your browser settings, go to Privacy or History, and clear the cache and cookies. Sign back in to Zeely afterward, then try the upload again.

You can also open Zeely in a private or incognito window. This helps check whether cached data or a browser extension is causing the issue.

Try another browser or device

  • Check out a different browser, such as Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.

  • Temporarily turn off browser extensions that could block uploads.

  • If you're on mobile, try uploading from a desktop instead.

Still not working?
