How to set up Brand DNA in Brand space

Follow the steps below to build your brand map.

Written by Vita

Build a detailed brand profile so Zeely can create content that looks and sounds like your business.

Brand DNA brings together your logo, colors, fonts, visual direction, brand information, communication style, and rules for what AI should avoid. Each brand has its own Brand DNA, so Zeely can follow the right guidance whenever you create content for that brand.

Here’s how to set it up:

Create your brand

  1. Log in to your Zeely account: https://app.zeely.ai

  2. Select Brand space in the left-hand menu. Under Brands, click + Add new brand.

  3. Enter the name your customers know, then click Continue. You can change the name later if needed.

  4. After you name your brand, Zeely opens its page. You’ll see two tabs at the top: Products and Brand DNA.

The Products tab is selected first, so you can add a product right away or come back to it later. If you would like to add one now, follow the guide that matches your situation:

To continue setting up your brand profile, select the Brand DNA tab.

Choose how to add your Brand DNA

You can import brand information from your website or fill everything in manually.

Import it from your website

  1. Paste your website address into the field. Click Analyze link.

  2. Wait while Zeely analyzes the website. This typically takes up to 50 seconds.

  3. On the Select logo screen, review the logos Zeely found and choose the correct one. Click Continue.

Zeely will take you to the Brand DNA page and fill in the information it could identify on your website.

Add it manually

If you don’t have a website or prefer to start from scratch, click Add manually. You’ll go straight to the same Brand DNA page, but its fields will be empty and ready for you to complete.

Review and complete your Brand DNA

If you imported your information from a website, look through every section carefully. Correct anything that does not represent your brand, and fill in details Zeely could not pick up from the link.

Your Brand DNA is divided into four sections:

Identity

  • Logo — the main logo Zeely should use for this brand

  • Colors — the primary, secondary, text, and background colors that shape your visual identity. Click on the circle to choose or edit the color

  • Fonts — the typefaces used for headlines and body text. Click on the name to search for the right one

  • Visual style — words that describe how your content should look, such as minimalist, clean, or luxurious. Tap + New to add a new style tag, or tap × next to a word to remove it

  • Visual don’ts — visual elements or styles that Zeely should leave out

Branding

  • Overview — a short explanation of what your brand offers and who it serves

  • Values — the principles and qualities your brand stands for. Tap + New to add a new style tag, or tap × next to a word to remove it

  • Tagline — a short, memorable phrase that captures your brand’s message

Communication

  • Tone of voice — how your brand should sound when communicating with customers

  • Taboo words and claims — words, phrases, or promises Zeely should not use

  • Headline styles to avoid — headline formats or approaches that do not fit your brand

General rules

  • Always avoid — any additional restrictions Zeely should follow when creating content

Use + New wherever it appears to add your own values, styles, restrictions, or other guidance. To remove an individual item, click the × beside it. If you want to remove all the information and start over, click Clear all fields.

Brand DNA influences your creatives. At the moment, it applies only to Image ads, with more formats on the way. The more carefully you fill out your profile, the easier it is for Zeely to keep your content consistent and steer clear of words, claims, headlines, or visuals that don't feel right for your brand.
