Great ideas deserve a second life. Reuse context turns the setup behind an existing video into the starting point for a new one, so you can build on what already works instead of starting over. Your original stays untouched, and the new video is saved as a separate project.
Below is one example of how it works, followed by where to find it.
What Reuse context carries over
Zeely brings back the supported settings from the original generation. Depending on how the video was created and what’s still available, these may include the selected product, reference images or videos, an avatar, a prompt written by you, the AI model, the aspect ratio, the resolution and duration, and other supported settings.
Think of them as a starting point: you can swap them out, take them away, or add new instructions before you generate.
Zeely restores the supported information from the original generation. The exact information depends on how the video was created and what remains available.
Unavailable items: If a product, reference, or avatar from the original generation has been deleted, or its AI model is no longer available, Zeely skips that item and fills in everything else. Choose a replacement before you generate.
Where to find Reuse context
You can reuse context from two types of video on the web: Playground videos and Video ads. Where the option appears depends on the tool and on where you’re viewing the video.
| From the builder | From Projects |
Playground videos | Go to Video ads > Playground, select Video at the top, find your video, click its three-dot menu, and select Reuse context. | Hover over the video card and click Reuse context at the bottom. |
Video ads | Go to Video ads > Video ad, click the video to open it, click the three-dot menu, and select Reuse context. | Click the video to open it in preview mode, then open the three-dot menu and select Reuse context. |
In every case, Zeely opens the matching workflow and fills in the supported settings, so you can review them and generate a new video.
Example: reuse context from a Playground video
In the left menu, open Projects. Find the Playground video whose setup you want to reuse and hover over its card. Then, click Reuse context at the bottom of the card.
Zeely opens the Video section of Playground with the available settings already filled in.
Review the restored information. Depending on the video, this may include your references, prompt, AI model, aspect ratio, resolution, and duration. Then check the following:
References: Replace anything that’s missing. You can also add a reference video or more images by uploading them, choosing from projects you’ve already created, or picking from Zeely’s reference library.
Prompt: Check it carefully. It appears only if you wrote it yourself.
Settings: Make sure the AI model, aspect ratio, resolution, and duration still suit the new video.
Credit cost: Look at the cost on the Generate button.
Make your changes, then click Generate.
Example: reuse context from Video ad
In the left menu, open Projects. Find the video whose setup you want to reuse and click on it.
Click the three dots in the upper-right corner, and choose Reuse context.
Review the restored information. This may include the full video ad, hook, or body, the hook and body scripts, the AI model, the resolution, and the hook headline, captions, and audio settings. Then check the following:
Scripts: Read the hook script and body script, and edit them if you want a different message. The scripts appear only if they were part of the original generation.
Format: Make sure the right tab is selected: Full video ad, Hook, or Body.
Settings: Check that the AI model and resolution still suit the new video.
Audio, captions, and hook headline: Look through these tabs in the left menu and adjust anything you want to change.
Credit cost: Look at the cost on the Create video button.
Make your changes, then click Create video.
Note: Selecting Reuse context does not immediately generate a video. Credits are charged when you start the new generation.
Keep experimenting. Every video you’ve made is a head start for the next one. Reuse its setup, change one detail, and see what works better. If you need a hand with Reuse context, our Support team is happy to help:
