How to create Video ad?

Here's a step-by-step guide to creating a video ad using AI.

Written by Vita

A video ad lets you create promotion videos using AI influencers tailored to your brand, product, or service. They look just like the UGC content you'd find on Instagram Reels or TikTok, where creators rave about products in a natural, engaging way. Except now you're the one calling the shots, with a whole cast of influencers ready to churn out ads for you.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Log in to your Zeely account: https://app.zeely.ai/

  2. In the left menu, go to Marketing tools, then open Video ads and choose Video ad.

  3. Choose an asset. Select a product or service from your list, then review its Name and Description.

Next, you'll see the Market intelligence section. It helps Zeely better understand what you're selling, who it may appeal to, and what may motivate someone to buy it.

    Market intelligence includes:

    • Niche: What kind of product or service you offer.

    • Core value: The main value your product provides.

    • Target audience: The people most likely to be interested in it.

    • Pain points: Problems your product or service can help solve.

    • Purchase triggers: What may motivate someone to buy.

    • Social proof: Signals that can build trust, such as reviews, ratings, or mentions.

You can fill in these fields yourself, or click Generate to let Zeely create the analysis based on your product's name, description, and images.

When everything looks right, click Save.

  4. Pick an image. Click the Image card to open your available images.

Choose one from the list or upload your own by dragging and dropping it into the upload area or clicking Upload. Make sure your file meets the supported format and size requirements.

  5. Choose a reference. References shape the style and format of your ad. Pick the one that best matches your business. You can browse references by concept using the filters at the top, and watch "How it works" for a quick idea of how each concept plays out in a video.

If you're not sure which reference to choose, leave this step blank. Zeely will analyze your product or service and choose the most suitable format for you.

Every concept tells your story differently. Here's what each one is designed to do:

    • Fashion try-on: Best for clothing, footwear, jewelry, and accessory brands. Show products on a person to help customers imagine wearing them.

    • Digital demo: Best for apps, software, websites, and digital tools. Highlight key features and show how your product works.

    • Service showcase: Best for service-based businesses, such as beauty salons, fitness coaches, agencies, or home services. Explain what you offer and why customers should choose you.

    • Product showcase: Best for physical products of any kind. Put your product front and center, highlight its features, and show what makes it worth buying.

    • Street interview: Best for engaging, social-first content. Present your message through authentic conversations, customer reactions, or Q&A-style videos.

    • Podcast: Best for educational content, expert advice, and storytelling. Share insights, answer common questions, or build trust by talking directly to your audience.

    • Public speaking: A presenter addresses an audience on stage or at an event. Great for educational, promotional, and keynote-style videos.

    • Hidden camera: Footage captured from a discreet or first-person perspective, creating a candid, unscripted feel. Great for storytelling, product reactions, and everyday moments. You can change the main speaker by choosing a different avatar. To change the second person, use the prompt and describe the person you want to appear in the scene.

    • Before & after: Best for products or services that create a visible transformation. Show the starting point and the result to make the difference clear.

    • Native mention: Introduce your product as part of a conversation or piece of content, making the mention feel organic rather than like a traditional ad.

    • Talking head: Have a presenter speak directly to the viewer to share information, introduce a product, or deliver a message.

    • Outdoor activities: Show the presenter using or talking about your product in an outdoor setting, with a more dynamic and energetic feel.

    • ASMR: Best for products where sound, texture, or close-up details matter. Focus on satisfying visuals and sounds to create an immersive, sensory experience.

    • TV show: Present your product or message as part of a TV-style scene, segment, or show.

  6. Keep the avatar from your reference or swap it out for a new one. Click the avatar to open the library, then pick the one you want. Filter by Gender, Age, or Ethnicity to find the right fit.

The Use button will replace your actor.

Want to save one for later? Hover over any avatar to reveal the heart icon in the top-right corner and tap it. That avatar will then go straight to your favorites.

You can also create your own AI avatar if you don't see the one you're looking for. Click Create avatar and follow the prompts. When it's ready, it'll appear in the Custom tab, so you can use it anytime.

  7. Add your own prompt, or leave the field as is. The prompt is optional. Use it to tell Zeely more about what you want to see in the generated image, including specific details about the avatar, setting, scene, or language you want to use.

Note: At the moment, Zeely doesn't support recording or uploading your own voice for an AI avatar.

  8. Choose your settings:

    • AI model: Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana 2, or GPT Image 2

    • Output, which defines how many start images will be generated. You can generate 1, 2, or 3 outputs and pick the one you like best

Click Create start image and wait for the base visual to generate (usually under a minute). Stay on the page.

Don't love the result? You can edit or regenerate the image, or adjust your prompt and try again.

  9. Once the image is ready, click Create video.

  10. Set up your video to make sure it meets your vision. Start with general settings:

    • Select from the available AI models, each suited to different needs:

      • Kling O3 Pro (Recommended) — High-fidelity motion with native audio. Outputs 1080p, runs 6–20 seconds, and costs 500 credits.

      • Seedance 2.0 — Reference-guided motion with native audio. Outputs 720p–1080p, runs 8–30 seconds, and costs 1500 credits.

Currently, for Video ad, you can't manually set the video duration. Zeely automatically determines the optimal length based on your content and selected settings.

    • Choose what to generate. Every video consists of two parts: a Hook, which grabs attention in the first few seconds, and a Body, which delivers your main message.

    • Add or edit the script. You can write the exact text you want the avatar to say. A full video ad has two parts:

      • Hook script: The opening of your video, designed to capture attention.

      • Body script: The main part of your video, where you deliver your message

You can edit the text in either field or leave the suggested script as is. If you want your avatar to speak in another language, simply write the script in that language.

For example, you can write the entire Hook or Body script in Spanish, German, French, or another language you want to use.

Create a Full video ad to generate both parts. Or generate only the Hook to test different openings, or only the Body to update the main message while keeping your introduction unchanged.

    • Want more control? Turn on the toggle and write a prompt to guide the video creation or adjust the reference; you can also leave it empty, and Zeely will analyze your reference and assets to create the video automatically.

  11. Go to Audio to customize the voice:

    • Choose the tone of voice

    • Pick an emotion

    • Adjust accent

  12. Then, jump to Captions:

    • Move the toggle left to turn captions off, or right to turn them on

    • Choose their position in the frame: top, center, or bottom

    • Find the perfect color for them, select a standard shade, or click on the color wheel to find the one you want

Next, customize your hook headline: add the text you want viewers to see at the beginning of your video. Click the 😊 icon to add emojis, then choose a style and customize the font, colors, size, alignment, and position. The preview updates as you edit, so you can see exactly how your headline will look. Keep your text inside the safe area to make sure it isn't cropped on social media.

When everything looks good, click Create video and wait for it to generate.

  13. From the left menu, go to Projects, then select Video from the format filter. Anyway, Zeely will notify you when the video is ready.
