How to regenerate a video?

It's easy. Edit the prompts, scripts, visuals, or other generation settings, then regenerate your AI video.

Written by Nataly P

Sometimes your video just needs a little tune-up — a better track, a sharper image, or a new hook that really catches the scroll. You can update parts of your video for free or completely rebuild it when you’re ready for a fresh start.

Editing options depend on the type of video you created.

If you regenerate a Viral content video, Zeely will automatically create a new version for you. The plot can change, but you won't see a prompt editor or be able to customize the instructions.

If you regenerate a Video ad, you'll open the prompt window, where you can adjust the creative before generating a new version. You can edit the prompt, rewrite the script, and fine-tune the video to better match your idea.

Please note: Talking-head videos and Talking Avatar videos cannot be edited. To make changes, you'll need to create a new video instead.

Now let's look at the editing options in more detail for Video ads:

  1. Go to the Projects section on your dashboard and open the Video tab.

  2. Find the video you want to update, click the three dots (⋯) in the lower-right corner, and choose Regenerate.

  3. In the editor, you can fine-tune your video before generating a new version.

    Video

    Adjust the creative itself:

    • Edit the prompt to change the scene or add small details

    • Rewrite or regenerate the script

    • Switch to a different AI model

    Audio

Customize how your AI influencer sounds:

    • Choose a different voice

    • Change the tone and emotion

    • Select an accent

    Captions

Make the subtitles match your style:

    • Turn captions on or off

    • Change the highlight color

    • Move captions to the top, center, or bottom of the frame

When everything looks the way you want, click Regenerate video. Zeely will create a fresh version with your changes applied.

  4. Once the video has been regenerated, you will find the updated version in Projects under the Videos tab.
