All about credits in Zeely

How they work, what uses them, and how to make the most of every credit

Written by Vita

Credits power everything you create in Zeely. They let you generate images, videos, AI creatives, and more using one shared balance instead of separate limits for each tool.

Let’s take a little tour of how credits work, what uses them, and how to get the most out of every credit.

What credits are and why Zeely uses them

Credits are a single unit that covers every creative action in Zeely, videos, images, and edits alike. Rather than juggling separate limits for each format, Zeely uses one balance for everything, keeping the system simple and flexible. You decide how to spend it: one polished video or several quick experiments.

Credits also reflect real cost. Every generation or edit runs on AI models processing data and rendering results behind the scenes.

One balance for all creative actions

All creative tools use the same balance:

  • Video

  • Images

  • Editing and regeneration

  • Variations and retries

If an action involves AI generating or re-processing content, it uses credits. You’ll always see a ⚡ icon and the exact number of credits on the button before you start, so you know what will be deducted.

Types of credits

Plan credits

Plan credits come with your subscription and refresh every billing cycle. The amount you receive depends on your plan, higher tiers include more credits, giving you more room to create. You can check your current balance in your account at any time.

Extra credits

Extra credits can be purchased, or added by our team. Unlike plan credits, they don't reset each billing cycle, they simply stay in your account for as long as your subscription is active.

Our Support team may also add extra credits during onboarding or to help resolve an issue.

What happens to my credits when my subscription is canceled

  • If you cancel your subscription, it will remain active until the end of your current billing period. During that time, you can continue using Zeely and any remaining credits.

Once your subscription ends, you'll no longer be able to generate AI content or use your remaining credits.

  • If you contact Support and request an immediate cancellation, your subscription will end right away. You'll no longer be able to use Zeely's AI generation features or any remaining credits from that point on.

What happens to my credits when my subscription is paused

  • When your subscription is paused, all your plan and extra credits remain in your account.

  • You won't lose your credits during the pause. They'll be available again as soon as your subscription resumes.

How to check your credit balance:

  1. Log in to your Zeely web dashboard at https://app.zeely.ai

  2. Look at the top-right corner of the dashboard. Your current credit balance appears next to your profile icon as a number with a green lightning bolt. That number is your available balance.

Everything is transparent and meets the legal requirements: the credits are withdrawn only if the CTA says that.

How to view credit history and rates:

  1. Click on the number at the top-right corner.

  2. Hit View Credit history.

  3. You’ll see the feature used, credits spent, the date, and the AI model involved.

If an image or video fails to generate due to a technical issue, credits are automatically refunded. You don’t need to take any action, but you’re always welcome to reach out if something looks off or you just want clarification.

To check how much a feature costs before you use it, click See rates in the Credit history modal. This makes it easier to plan ahead.

What exactly uses credits

Credits are spent when Zeely’s AI actively processes something.

This includes:

  • Generating a new video or image

  • Creating a static ad

  • Turning an image into a video

  • Editing an existing creative

  • Regenerating or changing elements that require AI processing

One thing to keep in mind: editing uses credits if it triggers a new AI generation. Even small changes can require the model to reprocess the content.

Viewing, organizing, or downloading finished creatives does not use credits.

Why credits can seem to run out fast

This usually happens for one of three reasons:

  • Multiple edits or retries on the same creative

  • Experimenting with different prompts, styles, or formats

  • Regenerating content to refine the result

That’s normal. Iteration is part of the creative process, and credits reflect the real work happening behind the scenes.

How to avoid burning credits unnecessarily

A few simple habits can stretch your balance further:

  • Start with a clear prompt before generating

  • Avoid changing many things at once during edits

  • Review your creative carefully before re-generating

  • Use one strong version as your base instead of starting from scratch each time. Add your product carefully, include details that may help in future generations, and use high-quality photos. Here’s a quick guide on choosing the right images.
